It’s contest time again! Speech contests are a Toastmasters custom. Each year, countless Toastmasters compete in the Humorous, Evaluation, Tall Tales, Table Topics and International speech contests. Competition begins with club contests and winners continue competing through the area, division, district and all new region quarterfinal levels. Region quarterfinal winners progress to the International competition, where they will compete in the semifinals for an opportunity to participate in the World Championship of Public Speaking ®.
2019 Spring Contest
For the 2019 Spring Contest the following two categories will be in the competition.
International
Contestants present a five- to seven- minute speech on any subject they choose. All districts must conduct this contest.
Evaluation
Contestants observe a five-to seven-minute test speech and then present a two-to three-minute evaluation of the test speech.
Big “D” Toastmasters has a long history of sending club members to the division and district contests. Our club contests are hard fought with many club members competing each category. We highly encourage you to come out to our contest and see it live!
This years contest is February 21, 2019. The winners of the club contests will go on to the Area contest on Saturday, February 23, 2019 where they will compete against other clubs in the area.
