Another week in the books! Here is your Big "D" Toastmasters meeting summary for January 24, 2019.
This weeks theme was "Hair." We were entertained by another long time member, Zak, who stepped in at the last minute and taught us a lot about hair. We also had quite a few guests who joined us this week, and they were treated to some amazing speeches. You should have been there!
An interesting Table Topics session this week, led by David. All of the questions had something to do with hair. From favorite TV hair styles, popular styles in music and more proved interesting. One question was a debate on which is worse, the mullet or the man bun. Yet another asked what hair style you would give to certain people.
In other news, no one chose "The Rachel" as the most iconic hairstyle of all time.
Another week, and another round of great speeches at our Toastmasters meeting.
Our first speech was from Kathy, who spoke about a particular word that ends with "itch." It was a fascinating speech about how the word has evolved and been used here in the United States.
The second speaker was Mickey who gave a speech about her time as, well, you know what, we're not going to give this one away. We'll just say that the line of the speech (and evening) was, "The good Lord don't fax me a schedule."
Our final speaker was Taylor, who used props to show us her favorite new cooking utility and how it can help anyone make a great steak. It was quite entertaining to watch the props being used, complete with a paper cut out of a steak!
We had no new members this week. However, several of our visitors are looking to join, and could do so next week. Come join us and you could be the next new member!
