Update 01/04/2019
The following update is from VP of Education, Steve Malecek.
Dear Big “D” Toastmasters:
Hope everyone’s New Year is off to an excellent start.
In looking after the scheduling for our Big “D” Toastmaster’s meetings I will aim to keep the on-line schedule https://app.tmclubschedule.com/login updated to show four weeks out from our most recent meeting.
At present, the schedule posted extends through our meeting on Jan. 17, 2019
On Monday, Jan 7th, I will post an updated schedule for an additional two weeks until January 31, 2019.
Thereafter, by the following Monday after each week’s Thursday meeting I will plan to update the schedule by one week to keep four weeks posted.
Before the schedule is updated however, if you haven’t done so already, please mark any absences you anticipate for the meetings on January 24th and January 31st, so that you are not assigned a role for those meetings.
As has been emphasized before, including by Don Teague, our previous VP Ed, once the schedule has been posted and roles assigned, it becomes the responsibility of the role holder to find a replacement if they can’t fulfill their role. At the risk of sounding pedantic about this, I have included below some basic guidelines on using the on-line scheduler as far as absences, assignments, and finding replacements are concerned. These notes were included in an earlier email from me, but not sure if everyone received them.
If there are any questions about what a particular role entails, especially if it’s your first time in a role, descriptions of each role can be found under ‘Role Holder Guides” in the member section of the Big “D” website at https://dallastoastmasters.com/member/role-holder-guides/ Alternatively, please contact me for any additional information or guidance.
Our upcoming meeting on Thursday, January 10th will be led by experienced Toastmaster, Mac Smith. Please make sure to respond to Mac as called for if you have a role for this meeting.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Steve
